Overcome Resistance and Get Out of Your Own Way

The three dumbest guys I can think of: Charles Lindbergh, Steve Jobs, Winston Churchill. Why? Because any smart person who understood how impossibly arduous were the tasks they had set themselves would have pulled the plug before he even began.Ignorance and arrogance are the artist and entrepreneur’s indispensable allies. She must be clueless enough to have no idea how difficult her enterprise is going to be—and cocky enough to believe she can pull it off anyway. How do we achieve this state of mind?By staying stupid. By not allowing ourselves to think.

A child has no trouble believing the unbelievable, nor does the genius or the madman. It’s only you and I, with our big brains and our tiny hearts, who doubt and overthink and hesitate. (more…)

It’s Ok To Steal…

Austin Kleon wants you to know that all artists steal.

As much as creatives don’t want to admit it, WE ALL STEAL. The thing that separates the good ones from bad ones is that the good ones steal from many places to create new combinations, while the bad ones steal from only a few places and their work just looks jacked. Either way stealing is just one of 9 points of contention that writer Austin Kleon talks about on his blog. So head on over, you might learn a thing or two about being creative. The National Anthem “Unforgettable”

I was loading some music on my dad’s iPod when I ran across this song…Marvin Gaye (All-Star Game). I asked my mother about it, she smiled and said it was “unforgettable”! I looked it up on YouTube and was blown away too. Check it out, here:

“Swagger on a 100,000 trillion”

Yesterday I got a chance to see the Wizards battle the Heat. One day after the Heat took an embarrassing fall to the lowly Cavs. One thing is blatantly apparent about this Heat team, their “Swagger is on a 100,000 trillion”.

This is a late 4th quarter video I took on my (low quality video) Blackberry. Lebron seemed to get a little frustrated toward the end. It seemed like the Wizards where annoying the Heat, like a Gnat buzzing in their ears. lol:

Teaching Design for Change

Really cool and inspirational, something I’d like to get involved in. I’m actually still watching now..

…”Emily Pilloton established Studio H in North Carolina’s rural Bertie County to use the principles of design to engage high school students and bring new opportunities to an economically stressed area. You might remember that we awarded her a spot in the inaugural GOOD 100; in the time since, she continues to amaze. Here’s a look at her recent TED Talk: “Teaching Design for Change.” Source: TED
