I won’t let them take this away, lol

It’s kind funny, but basketball used to be a huge part of my life. I was a good, not great basketball player; but I managed my way on to 3 different high school varsity basketball teams (in 4 years) and I played college ball im Florida. If you were to follow a typical day in the life of  ’Daniel Moore’ you’d never know I even knew what a basketball was lol. It’s all this design stuff, man…

Well, I was in the middle of an analytics report of my site when I ran across this pic of me from my college b-bal days (6 Google pages back ) :

Nike Sportswear presents Always On: Lamar Odom

Lamar Odom might hoop in Los Angeles and appear on reality TV shows with his celebrity wife, but he hasn’t gone all the way Hollywood. In the new video “Always On: Lamar Odom,” he takes viewers on a tour of the formative spots in Queens that shaped his game, his mentality and his life. Walk with him down Jamaica Avenue, see him practicing his handles at Frederick B. Judge Park and join him as he satisfies his famed sweet tooth at an ice cream truck. Lamar’s homecoming is accompanied by Stalley’s exclusive track “Born to Win.” Enjoy!

New work

Another project I just wrapped-up. I’m actually pretty excited about this one, I’m a big basketball fan and desiging identity for a new franchise in a new league is truly a dream come true. ABA basketball is back, and I’m happy to play a role, even if it’s just a small role.

Derek Jeter’s Swinging Years

Derek Jeter is one of my favorite athletes, mostly because my dad speaks so highly of him (my dad’s a huge baseball fan). I surprised my dad last year with really good seats to see Jeter and the Yankees, in Baltimore. My dad was as happy as I’ve seen him in a really long time. After the game he told me, “you made an old man happy” (I’ll never forget that).

Anyway, the real point of this post is Derek, a real class act – he’s been tested and proven. Personally, I really admire his professionalism, particularly the way he separates his personal life from his private life.

GQ has a great cover story on Mr. Jeter in their latest issue. Check it out after the jump.

“The Whole City’s Behind us”

VCU Basketball

This hometown college team’s success has made the city proud! I was born in Richmond and had a chance to witness first-hand the cities pride rise high as 11 seed, Virginia Commonwealth University hustled their way to the Final Four. The team’s success might not mean a great deal to those outside the state, but during these tough times we all appreciated the lift  in spirit and the encouragement they gave us. The whole city was behind this team and they made us very proud! Go Rams!
