I won’t let them take this away, lol

It’s kind funny, but basketball used to be a huge part of my life. I was a good, not great basketball player; but I managed my way on to 3 different high school varsity basketball teams (in 4 years) and I played college ball im Florida. If you were to follow a typical day in the life of  ’Daniel Moore’ you’d never know I even knew what a basketball was lol. It’s all this design stuff, man…

Well, I was in the middle of an analytics report of my site when I ran across this pic of me from my college b-bal days (6 Google pages back ) :

One more thing…

I’m always working toward my goals and I’ll relocate, meet anybody, do just about anything I need to do to get to where I need to be. BUT, sometimes no matter how good things are or when I think about how much further I am this year than last – I sometimes feel the need to be around familiar people, places and things. I’ve been away from “home” since I was 17 years old and I’ve never been homesick, but sometimes man – I gotta say it, there really is “no place like home”.

I don’t usually do this, but…

I went out with a very beautiful young lady last week for the first time. We hit it off perfectly. We went to a nice restaurant downtown that neither of us had ever been before. We both loved it – and stayed there talking, drinking and eating for 3 hours before leaving. She has a great head on her shoulders, she’s driven and focused. Long story short, I’m at a stage in my life where I know it’s important to be honest when dealing with women. I’m 27 now, and at this age when you hit it off with someone it’s important to communicate your intentions and not play silly games. It’s not that I’m not looking for a good relationship, it’s just that I’m placing more of a priority on my career (getting to where I need to be) then on a relationship. Good relationships take time and effort – if I can’t commit to that, then there’s no need to even go down that road. Right?

Ok, that’s enough of that.

Peace.

Real Talk

For the last six months or so, waking up to go to work has actually been physically painful. I know that sounds a bit overdramatic; but it’s the truth.

I thought several times before posting this, I was worried what people might think. Most would probably think I’m ungrateful – to have any job in this economy is more than a blessing. So, let me set the record straight, I am very thankful to have a job in design that pays my bills and helps me take care of my financial responsibilities.

I’ve been busy, man…

and that’s why I havent been blogging lately. I’ve actually been reevaluating the whole point of this blog. Although a few of my friends from college still read it occasionally. The real reason I started blogging was to provide a little more than the typical ‘About Me’ page on my portfolio site. My thinking was that this would help set me a part form other designers when I was in the middle of my last job search. Most of the content on this blog was re-blogged from some of my favorite blogs – which is kinda lame. I have my own opinions, feelings and voice; it’s about time I stopped acting afraid to voice them. So look for more original content from here own.  Real talk from me, by me.

Peace and love, D
